Every Wednesday, a group of students (above) from Albion Park High School attend a Southern Youth and Family Services program in Warilla.

SYFS run an innovative program for Aboriginal Students which focuses on immersing students in culture and connecting students with elders. Through attending the program, the students stated that they most enjoyed the chance to learn about Indigenous culture and language. Students also revealed that participating in traditional art and dance were activities they valued in their education.

Through this program, all the students were given the chance to write and record a song using professional recording equipment. Olivia Talbott had the opportunity to record a deeply moving song for her Year 12 Aboriginal Studies Major Work, which focuses on the deaths of Aboriginal people in custody.
