Computers or books in the educational setting?
This question has become a great debate all around the world, with people having strong opinions to individuals not caring whatsoever. Both computers and books have their benefits and disadvantages. While computers are great for offering answers for any inquiry very fast, they also have the ability to distract kids from their work as well as many medical issues such as headaches, damage of the retina, neck pain and severe permanent eye strain. Books on the other hand still offer the same answers although they take time to find, many individuals find it easier to work and write in their textbooks as laptops die and WIFI technicalities occur. Writing by hand doesn’t come with as many disadvantages as laptop do, but negatives still occur such as hand cramps, pen or pencil smudging and overall a bit irritating when you have a large amount of words to write.
Us here at Hit the Press wanted to take into consideration the opinions of the students and faculty of Albion Park High School.
At our school (just like many others) 83% of the staff prefer using textbooks and 89% of students rather use computers.
The final verdict you may ask, no one really knows. But from this author's opinion, technology must go!!
