Facts about the Marburg Virus

• It first appeared in 1967

• It was traced back to have been made in a Gene Monkey 

• The Monkey was said to have carried the virus as it was sent to three different areas to inhabit 

• The Virus actually escaped cause lab workers where trying to use the monkeys kidney cells for vaccines and instead made a virus outbreak in their lab 

• Most of the outbreaks where only in Africa and were just spread around the area 

• Around every ten affected with the virus only 15% - 20%  survived
