GROWING UP

2023 is coming to an end, with year 7 finishing their first year of high school and a new wave of students coming to high school from their last year of primary. Here are some positives and negatives for our new wave of year 7s in 2024

šŸ˜„šŸ‘POSITIVESšŸ‘šŸ˜„

Have more connections with staff.

Going into high school means you will now have a timetable with different classes and teachers. This will help you connect with a range of teachers and staff.

More opportunities in extracurricular activities.

Going into high school means you can find clubs or more activities you can do whilst you and in school which could help you find friends with similar interests.

Getting older.

As you are going through your schooling years you are getting older each year, this may be worrisome for a lot of people but you always are going to age and it would be better to just adapt to the change.

šŸ˜ŸšŸ‘ŽNEGATIVESšŸ‘ŽšŸ˜Ÿ

Might be overwhelming.

Going to a new school with bigger kids when you were just on top may feel scary, but there is no reason to be scared because the older kids will look out for you.

Work gets more challenging.

As you get older the work gets more challenging but you might not notice because you are getting smarter. If you need help, never be worried about asking your teacher, parents or staff.

Might lose friends.

When moving schools some people might not be in your area for the same high school. It may feel very VERY disappointing but if you keep in contact with them you may not be as sad as you were.
