Heavy Metal is Healing for Mental Health


The world of heavy metal is regularly misunderstood and needs to be heard out Metal is the 4th most popular music genre for 2023.Heavy Metal music is usually consisted of distorted guitars ,extended guitar solos,empathic beats and loudness there are 24 genres of metal black metal,Nu metal,doom metal,power metal,progressive metal,thrash metal,rap metal,metal in general,metalcore,glam metal,folk,symphonic,groove ,alternative,industrial,deathcore,avant garde,post metal,gothic metal,grindcore,speed metal,sludge metal and viking metal.


One study from a scientist said that listening to metal music can make someone’s blood pressure go lower and it can reduce anger.In 2019 metalhead professor Nick Perham make a statement that:


“People who were made angry and then listened to heavy metal music did not increase their anger,but increased their positive emotions,suggesting that listening to extreme music represents a healthy and functional way of processing anger”.


This indicates that metal helps you calm down from a argument,paranoia,anxiety or panic attack it might not work for everybody but it works for me I recommend trying it sometime.There was also scientist that found out that people who listen to metal are the happiest among all music fans. Did you know listening to music for 78 minutes each day can give you high health benefits and can increase your happiness if you are feeling sad or upset?


Heavy metal is a very interesting type of music and it is said that what music you listen to can affect your personality, according to a group of researchers. People who listen to metal music are said to be more loyal to themselves and others around them. They are said to be honest and people who are easy to open up too.


So, what are the THREE most beneficial aspects of heavy metal music for teenagers?

  1. It reduces the risk of depression and it makes you a lot more happy

  2. It is relaxing and calms the human brain and improves the mental health

  3. It improves the probability of being violent

“Some heavy metal is great, though sometimes it is a bit loud for me.”


“Heavy metal is great! Everyone in my family loves heavy metal. It actually cheers me up, and gives me energy.”


“I love heavy metal. I think it sounds great, and is always about really meaningful concepts.”


“Black Sabbath are my all time favourite. I really enjoy it, though I do prefer country rock.”

“I love heavy metal! I think all students should better understand the health benefits of listening to heavy metaL The musicality of heavy metal bands is something that some people can forget sometimes.


“No way. I can’t work out what they’re saying. It just sounds like screaming. I might be old, but I want something I can bop along to in the car.”
