A Surf Life Surfing Club is a great way to spend the summer. In the summer there are many clubs and activities that you can do to learn how to do surf life saving. When you turn 13 you do your SRC (Surf Rescue Certificate), and if you're older than 15 you get your bronze certificate, meaning you can be an adult lifeguard. This could be either volunteer or paid. There are plenty of opportunities, but once you get your SRC you can work at Jamberoo and be a jr lifeguard. You also get to learn about radios, cpr, and if you don't like that stuff you can just help run it, or just do it. There's activities, like flags, tug a rope, boards, swim, runs and alot more.
Here are the top 3 reasons that all teenagers should join the Surf Life Saving Club:
3 - You get to wear one of those ‘funny hats’
Yep, those weird hats that you see all over the beach... YOU could have the chance to wear one of these. Enough said.
2-you get real life experience in saving lives
Where else can you get real life experiencing in surf rescue and saving lives? By joining the Surf Life Saving Club, you will get hands on experience that will rival no other.
1-you can get paid to stay at the beach all day
As a surf life saver, you could actually get paid to spend your day on the beach. Don't forget your hat and sunscreen, because you will soon become a part of what makes Shellharbour so great - it's amazing beaches. Did I mention you could get paid to stay on the beach all day?
