Summer Special: Jaws 2 Review

3 years later Jeannot Szwarc directed Jaws 2 at Navarre Beach in Florida it was also briefly the highest grossing sequel in history until Rocky II came out. The Jaws 2 screenplay was written by Dorothy Tristan and Howard Sackler each Jaws movie features a new shark, with the main conflict being the battle between life or death. The original animatronics in the first film were named Bruce. Jaws 2 is not as good as the first jaws movie and is based around the same background story.

The storyline takes place years after multiple shark attacks. As a result of this the sheriff wants to remove public access to the beach due to it’s bad reputation from the shark attacks that occurred in the first Jaws movie while the mayor wants to keep the beach open. They hold a sailing competition. During the competition the participants see a shark fin in the water which sparks the main complication. In my opinion, the most exhilarating part of the movie happened to be the final scene.

Once again the shark looked fake and you can tell that it is an animatronic. The special effects were good, making the wounds look real.

I think this is something all teenagers would enjoy because it is a horror film that is interesting and gruesome. It also teaches kids a lesson about being careful when in the water, checking your surroundings and that swimming between the flags is important.
