Each week, an amazing year 7 student will compose a book review for something they have recently read.
This week, Terry Pratchett's 'Nation'.
While not the best book by Terry Pratchett, it is still a good but long read. It contains all of Terry Pratchett’s normal things like jokes, serious plots and cool settings.
The setting is a slightly overused theme- being stranded on a tropical island, but there is a good spin on things. I liked how there were many different cultures that all combined and formed their own one. I like that it was all because of one massive wave that came through and destroyed everything.
Overall, I think it was a fairly good book. Pratchett has written better ones but if you like a classic island theme with a weird twist this would be a good book. It has plenty of jokes but is still fairly serious at times.
I give it a solid seven out of ten.
